Outreach Coordinator, California Revealed

I'm Guadalupe, Outreach Coordinator with California Revealed. We're a statewide initiative to provide digitization and digital preservation services to over 450 cultural heritage organizations. Their collections are publicly accessible to all. They capture many "hidden" stories from communities that have been under resourced, underrepresented, and historically excluded from the public record. Our mission is to provide our partners opportunities to describe, digitize, and increase discoverability for their unique and diverse archives.

Earlier this year, IMLS funding for cultural heritage and humanities grants was terminated—California Revealed relies 100% on IMLS funding. Our services are essential to preserving history from the perspectives of local voices and landscapes, especially from BIPOC communities, people with disabilities, LGBTQI+ communities, the working class, and historically disenfranchised.

We're hosting a fundraiser this month on Saturday night, September 20, 2025—Sacramento on Film: Celebrating 15 Years of California Revealed. Our volunteer committee has worked very hard the past couple months organizing the event, and we hope to share with more Sacramento locals and beyond. Please let us know if you are interested in learning more about the impact of IMLS federal funding on our archives, museums, and libraries -- and how we can collectively organize to restore the work. Thank you for your time and consideration!

More about the event:

Sacramento on Film: Celebrating 15 Years of California Revealed
In partnership with the Center for Sacramento History, join California Revealed for a special screening of home movies, short films, and rare historic footage capturing over a century of life in the Sacramento region—all preserved from the archives. Hosted by the incomparable Matías Bombal, this night celebrates the people, places, and moments that shape our communities. This Archival Screening Night fundraiser will directly support California Revealed programs and services offered to heritage organizations statewide to digitize, preserve, and share their California history.
